Become a vital part of the RHSAVES horse rescue family! If you have a passion for horses and people, and want to make a real difference, we invite you to explore the many ways you can volunteer your time and talents. We are located in Tucson, Arizona, United States, and dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-purposing horses facing the slaughter pipeline. By volunteering, you'll be connecting horse and people to foster mutual healing, enhance mental health and provide accessible, positive equine connection.

Hands-on horse care and more

As a volunteer at RHSAVES, you'll have the opportunity to contribute in various ways, both directly with the horses and behind the scenes. Daily horse care includes feeding, watering, cleaning stalls, and grooming. We also need assistance with fundraising and events, public relations and advertising, grant writing, and clerical or administrative tasks. If you prefer to be behind the horses, we need skilled craftspeople for building and repairing structures.

Skills and motivations

While a love for horses or people is essential, we welcome volunteers from all backgrounds! Your unique skills and experiences can make a significant impact. What motivates people to volunteer at RHSAVES is that we truly care about the horse. RHSAVES horse rescue is dedicated to the wellness of our horses and the people who care for them.

Your time commitment

We understand that everyone's time is valuable. We typically ask for a commitment of at least 1 day a week. This allows us to schedule tasks effectively and ensures consistent care for our horses.
